Who should host the Baby Shower?
The Baby Shower Etiquette traditionally has been sisters, sister-in-laws, close friends, aunts or cousins. Today, it is perfectly acceptable for any relative, friend or co-worker to plan the shower.

What is expected of the host?
The host has a special job, they have been chosen to plan the baby shower. It is up to the host to make the expected mom feel loved and extra special as it's a very special day. The host is responsible for managing all aspects of the shower (invitations, menu, games, favors etc), but is completely normal of enlist help from other family and friends. How long should the baby shower last?
There is no concrete baby shower etiquette for time. Showers typically last 2 hours, but may be longer or shorter depending on number or games, guests and gifts.

Are showers only for first borns?
No. Every new baby is a reason to celebrate. Traditionally, showers have been planned for the firstborn. Today, people of showers for second and third born (especially if the gender is different). When should the shower be held?
Traditionally, showers have been held around 2 months before the baby is born, so the mom-to-be has enough time to buy things she may need. Today, showers can be held either before the baby is born or after.

Can we throw a shower for an adopted baby?
By all means, all babies deserve a shower. If the adopted baby is older be sure to include recommended clothing size etc.

How many guests should be invited?

Are men invited to baby showers?
Traditionally, men did not attend baby showers, but today it is common to have a couples baby shower, which is loads of fun.
